There are a lot of misconceptions and stigma around the term “fasting”. Fasting is a pattern of eating that not only controls your calorie intake but can improve your overall health. Before you start our 4 FAST Week Challenge program, here are some myths we need to debunk first.

Myth 1: I’ll Lose Muscle
You won’t lose any muscle mass if you ensure that you are consuming the right amount of protein on your fasting days. As with any calorie restriction diet, you need to ensure you are eating the appropriate amount of protein. Our recipes we recommend have the right amount of protein that will ensure you maintain and possibly grow your muscle mass. We also teach you exactly how much protein you should be consuming daily.

Myth 2: It’s Unhealthy
People have been fasting for hundreds of years, if you know how to do it safely, it has incredible health benefits. Contrary to popular belief, you don’t starve yourself when fasting, you just don’t eat as many meals during the day!

Myth 3: It Will Slow Down My Metabolism
Nope! Studies suggest that your metabolism will start to slow down if you fast for 3 or more days. With our FAST 4-week program, your metabolism will actually increase with this pattern of eating, increasing your fat burning ability.

Myth 4: You’ll go into Starvation Mode
It’s important to emphasise that fasting is NOT starving the body! This is a popular misconception. When fasting you have total control over what you’re eating or not eating. In a fastened state your metabolism goes UP meaning you are burning more calories not less. So you are losing more weight but in a controlled and safe way.

Myth 5: Breakfast Is The Most Important Meal Of The Day
With our plan, you are only skipping breakfast for two days, which does no harm. Studies have found that those who skip breakfast actually cut their calories by 400 per day, with no effect on your metabolism and overall health.
